About Me

I’m Kelsey (she/her) and I am an educator, living in Brooklyn on occupied Lenape land.

My background is in community-based adult education, as well as university-based learning. Currently, I teach adult ESOL and literacy courses and manage other aspects of the adult literacy programming at Sanctuary for Families, an organization that serves survivors of domestic violence and gender-based violence. In the past, I also taught linguistics courses in the CUNY system. I received a PhD in linguistics from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2023. My research focuses on language ideologies in adult English education.

Outside of work, I love eating+cooking, reading, community-gardening, singing in a choir, and supporting local organizing.
